  This position must be capable of performing all duties associated with the Machine Operator Level 2 position to include managing the output from multiple presses which manufacture aluminum clips of various sizes, to include the proper packing of finished product (clips), as well as quality inspection of the product.   The incumbent will work in a team environment as a roving Technician under the direct supervision of a Machine Technician Level 2 or 3 (or supervisor) that is responsible for the oversight and training of the incumbent. This may also include a second shift team.   In addition to being proficient in the packing responsibilities, the individual must learn and show continuous progress toward independently performing adjustments and/or repairs to clip and loop manufacturing equipment. This requires a more intimate knowledge of the inter-workings of the clip and loop presses, and how to keep them running optimally.

This includes oversight and monitoring of the operating systems that service all production areas (air compressors, water treatment system, electrical, etc…).   The incumbent will coordinate with the Inventory Control Manager to carry out inventory cycle counting. As needed, the incumbent will also help identify and investigate root cause on inventory variances and/or discrepancies.   As needed, the incumbent will be responsible for creating countermeasures if/when production teams fail to meet established departmental goals and/or KPI’s. This may include, but not necessarily be limited to, creating reports and/or updating processes or procedures to eliminate KPI gaps.   Evaluate and determine appropriate staffing levels in production areas based on current customer demand. This will be accomplished by making necessary staffing adjustments within production areas in real time (move employees to other production areas as needs dictate). This could include coordinating with the supervisor of the second site and shifting employees between locations.
