The Accounts Payable Specialist will assist in entering payable invoices, applying payments, and ensuring good vendor relationships.

 

Reports to: Accounting Supervisor

 

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records supplier payments and transactions related to accounts Payable
  • Enters payable invoices against applicable POs
  • Maintains and updates supplier payment information
  • Works with purchasing to address differences in purchase orders and invoices.
  • Creates reports regarding the status of supplier accounts as requested.
  • Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff
  • Collaborates with the finance lead to reconcile accounts receivable on a monthly basis
  • Works with intercompany suppliers to reconcile biweekly
  • Assists Accounting Manager in vendor research for account oddities
  • Relays changes of information to appropriate employees
  • Some help with AR or revenue invoicing duties

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • At least two years of related experience required

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a concertation in excel
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, calculator, scanner, and copier
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
