We currently have opportunities for Systems Installation Engineers to join our team!  Your career at JBT will begin with a 6-9 month rotation in our Kingston, NY test facility, after which remote work will be available.  The rotational program is designed to hone the candidates electrical, mechanical, and software debugging skills while contributing to the company’s AGV pre-shipment qualifications.  Throughout the test engineering rotation, the candidate may be assigned to work on-site with installation teams for 1 to 2 weeks when the schedule permits.  

 

Responsibilities

AGV Test Engineer Responsibilities

Test Engineers are responsible for validating that vehicles meet all project requirements prior to being shipped to customer sites. 

 

Typical tasks include: 

  • Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic debug of AGV systems
  • Vehicle configuration
  • Vehicle calibration and tuning
  • Application code debug
  • Validation of safety systems
  • Validation of project requirements
  • Validation of throughput
  • Recording power consumption values
  • Interacting with engineering and R&D to resolve issues
  • Traveling (25%) domestically to customer sites

Systems Installation Engineer Responsibilities

System Installation Engineers are responsible for site layout programming, commissioning, and testing of JBT supplied equipment at customer sites.

Typical tasks include:

  • Performs system installation of autonomous vehicles and peripheral equipment (chargers, I/O panels, operator interfaces, etc.).
  • Installing, testing and debugging of the system.
  • Traveling (60-75%of the time) domestically and internationally to customer sites
  • Modifying equipment and software.
  • Troubleshooting, defining and seeking resources to recognize and resolve electrical, mechanical and/or software improvement opportunities with system components.
  • Making software and hardware adjustments.
  • Monitoring system performance metrics.
  • Performing customer training.
  • Interfacing with customers.
  • Collaborating with other engineers on projects

Qualifications

  • BS  or BSET in Engineering - disciplines of engineering includes Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronic, etc.
  • 2 years of full-time engineering work experience preferred but not required.  Internships will be considered for recent college graduates (seniors).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Fundamentals of logical structured code – programming experience preferred
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Proficiency in CAD required (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Valid driver's license required.

Remote Candidates must reside within 1 hour of a major metropolitan airport
