Today, JBT Corporation’s AeroTech Division is a world leader in the supply of airport equipment and services focused on the future.  At our Orlando, Florida facility we manufacture airport ground support equipment, including aircraft deicers, aircraft tow tractors, cargo loaders and transporters.  


The Engineering Data Specialist I  works closely with Business Planning and Engineering staff to create, revise, and data enter unit top level bill of materials (Customer Specifications) in Excel, Teamcenter, and Syteline. Collects, records, maintains, and reports engineering data such as KPI results, costing analysis, engine traceability, and continuous improvement activities. Process Engineering Change Notices and Engineering Change Requests.


  • Create top level Customer Specifications (unit BOM) from Customer Requirement Documents
  • Complete revisions as required to CS documents
  • Maintain and exceed delivery and accuracy goals with respect to CS creation and revision
  • Proficient use of Excel for rapid data entry of large spreadsheets
  • Familiar with programming within Excel
  • Prepares Engineering Change Notices and other engineering documentation
  • Enter ECNs in Syteline and Teamcenter
  • Process data in several SharePoint files including ECRs and FAST Response calls
  • Enter and process data and prepare detailed reports for all levels of Engineering Management
  • Ability to learn and utilize Syteline to add and revise bill of materials
  • Support JBT and departmental goals and objectives. Participate in Lean Process Improvement activities
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion


  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or equivalent desired.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment desired.


Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): None


Additional Training:

  • In-house training using Syteline, Teamcenter, and Excel templates to create and revise Customer Specs
  • In-house training of JBT engineering processes, work aids, and instructions
  • Various software packages as required
  • Lean Product Development and Continuous Improvement processes
  • Creation and reporting of JBT Engineering KPIs and performance driven metrics

Specialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of bills of material.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software




Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, work environment, supervisor responsibilities, safety and so on):

  • Work Environment- Primary work location will be in an office environment. Frequent and extended visits to the assembly line and test area will be required. Minimal travel may be required.
  • Physical Demands -  Typical daily work environment will consist of long hours in an office environment with long periods of computer operation. Frequent short-term visits to manufacturing and test areas will result in exposure to high noise levels and an increased awareness of congested work spaces and the exposure to potentially hazardous work environments normally associated with heavy duty manufacturing activities.  
  • Supervisor Responsibilities - None
  • Type of Supervision Position works under: (close, moderate, minimal) This position is responsible for completing design assignments in accordance with work instructions and guidelines and with little direct supervision.
  • Errors - Errors in new designs will be detected during the internal design team and engineering checking process and the engineering validation process. Errors will lead to increased development cost and time.
  • Relationship Responsibilities- Regular communication with vendors and outside service providers
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards by properly using protective equipment, safe operation of all machinery, tools, and equipment as well as following safety rules at all times.
  • Regular communication with internal customers, design teams, and management
