JBT Corporation (JBT) is a global technology solutions provider to the food processing and air transportation industries with ~$1.9B in annual revenue.  Liquid Foods is a division within the FoodTech Segment of JBT.  This role is the Global Controller for the Liquid Foods division.  The Liquid Foods division is headquartered in Lakeland, Florida and has operations in the United States, Spain, Italy, Amsterdam, Belgium, China, England, and South Africa.



Position Overview

This position works directly with General Manager of Proseal America and the CFO of Liquid Foods in supporting the business’ financial analysis, reporting, costing, and planning. Individual must be self-driven and be able to work with all levels of organization. Position is a hands-on, working controller for a manufacturing site.  In addition to being responsible for the financial and accounting processes and controls, this individual will partner with the GM and leadership team to drive the business strategy and achieve financial results.  The business has revenue of ~$65M.


Major responsibilities include accounting for business transactions, preparation and analysis of financial reporting, operational performance, forecast, annual budget, and support for site audits. This individual develops and leads the monthly business performance report and review.  This role serves as the point person with the local site with daily accounting needs, with Shared Service Center, and with Corporate functions (Tax, Treasury, etc.) as needed. Partnering closely with the Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams is also critical and will involve cost analysis for variances, reporting of labor cost and efficiency, sourcing cost and savings, and providing recommendations to improve processes. This position will prepare operations financial and trend analysis to support decision making and provide recommendations for business performance improvements.




Financial Reporting

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements
  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and cost reviews
  • Maintain and enhance financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
  • Report on key business measures and KPI
  • Completes financial analysis of business performance and trends along with preparation of monthly financial review package and other ad hoc financial reports 
  • Builds continuous improvement and lean initiatives into the financial area
  • Oversees accounting practices related to payables, receivables, inventories, fixed assets, and payroll
  • Oversee AR management and provide support to collections activities

Financial Audit & Control

  • Balance sheet and reconciliation reviews
  • Insure SOX and control processes in place and operating effectively
  • Serve as a key point of contact for auditors, Manage preparation and support of all internal and external audits
  • Track and insure timely and complete remediation of audit findings and that process controls are sufficiently in place to eliminate repeat findings
  • Technical accounting and transaction research as needed partnering with Liquid Foods finance and Corporate Accounting

Financial Analysis

  • Provide financial analysis and evaluation of investment opportunities and insure investment assumptions are well reasoned and that the investments meet corporate requirements
  • Assist with special projects and analysis as needed working with the General Manager, CFO, Corporate

Business Partner

  • Serve as a member of Proseal America leadership team and participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution
  • As a business partner to the GM, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and forecast, proactively identify gaps and actions to close
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the GM and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations

  • Travel of 10 – 15% required

 Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance required with CPA and/or MBA desired
  • Experienced Senior Financial Professional with over 5 years of solid experience in Accounting. Expertise in finance, forecasting, budgeting, data analysis, cost analysis and cost accounting, operations, project management, SOX principles, financial statement reporting experience in a manufacturing environment, and strong technical knowledge of accounting principles
