Overview

Sourcing and Purchasing Manager

 

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management
    • Engage in sourcing activities to find alternative or new vendors to improve cost and/or Leadtime for JBT MAD
    • Actively work with current vendors to establish purchasing agreements to improve cost and/or Leadtime for JBT
    • Actively work with current vendors to prevent cost increases using Hold the Line strategies
    • Build and maintain strong, strategic vendor relationships
      • Contributing to the success of the Customer Care business
  • Inventory Management
    • Analyze sales history and forecasts, including installed base data, to project future inventory needs
    • On a continuous basis, set, adjust, and manage safety stock levels between Aftermarket and MFG Branches
    • Oversee and direct consignment stock and blanket purchase orders
    • Improve inventory turns to meet corporate goals
    • Proactively work with sales and management teams to develop campaigns for E&O and upcoming E&O inventory
    • Flow ins Plan For Every Part program and keep it updated
  • Purchasing Management
    • Develop best practices for customer care parts
    • Work with buyers to achieve HTL, savings targets and Sourcing efforts
    • Review and approve purchase orders from buyers
    • On a continuous basis, resource domestically parts / BCC

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of professional experience
  • Assertive, self-motivated, goal and result-driven, lead conversation
  • A background (4+ years) in buying, account management, product management, project management, financial analysis and/or marketing
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Proven analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong database and computer skills
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Experience working with MRP systems, implementing MRP systems, knowledge of the market’s pricing & elasticity, strong negotiating skills, purchasing management experience. Mechanical and Technical background is a plus.
