    Today, JBT Corporation’s AeroTech Division is a world leader in the supply of airport equipment and services focused on the future.  At our Orlando, Florida facility we manufacture airport ground support equipment, including aircraft deicers, aircraft tow tractors, cargo loaders and transporters.  


    As a Test Specialist with JBT AeroTech, you will responsible for using extensive test experience, advanced skills, and judgment to complete any assigned test requirements. Specific duties include:

    • Tests according to JBT AeroTech specifications. Applies specialized skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and / or equipment in area of expertise.
    • Completes or assists testing in areas of expertise. Teaches other employees proper techniques and procedures for testing of products.
    • Assists with test bay layout, floor plan, and organization.
    • Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates design discrepancies. Identifies and suggests design improvements.
    • Completes required test documentation including check sheets, ECRs, NCRs, and material movement paperwork.
    • Moves product to the next process verifying it meets JBT AeroTech specifications.
    • Uses material handling equipment as required to move products or components in order to complete assignments.
    • Recommends improvements to Test Procedures. May draft new procedures as assigned.
    • Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping in work area.
    • Reviews daily team requirements, coordinates activities, and coordinates overtime requirements with Team Manager.
    • Follow Safety, Health, Environment, and Hazardous Waste Rules and Responsibilities.
    • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.



    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Technical / vocational / or military training or related experience.
    • Ability to comprehend all engineering blueprints, schematics, and written Engineering procedures.
    • Typically has eight or more years mechanical / test experience with at least four years experience in a similar environment.

    Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): Understand and use business system, appropriate moving vehicle certifications, problem solving, and schematics.

    Specialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:

    • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and design discrepancy identification.
    • Ability to test multiple product lines.
    • Ability to use personal computer or workstation.
    • Must demonstrate ability to use all appropriate tools, measuring devices, test equipment, forklifts, cranes, and fixtures required.
    • Ability to suggest design improvements.
    • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate personnel assignments within the department


    Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, work environment, supervisor responsibilities, safety and so on):

    Work Environment- Exposure to engine noise, heavy equipment, outside elements, steam room, oils, grease, and diesel fuel.

    Physical Demands- Bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, creeper work, using various hand and air tools, crawling in confined workspace, walking and lifting daily. 

    Supervisor Responsibilities-No direct reports, but assists in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of less experienced employees.

    Degree of Supervision- Works under general supervision. Relies on experience, judgment, and advanced skills to plan and accomplish assigned goals.  Under reasonable circumstances, accountable for daily schedule dates. Forwards appropriate material issues to the Buyer / Planner. Resolves questions and problems in Test and communicates potential delays to Team Manager.

    Errors- Most of work is not subject to direct check.  Possible errors may be serious, involving losses such as injury, damage to equipment, waste of material, late delivery, warranty costs, customer relations, etc.

    Relationship Responsibilities- Interfaces with all functional areas involved with Test to troubleshoot, communicate, and resolve issues.  Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.  Will communicate with customer during on-site inspections. May also communicate with vendors.

    Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards by properly using protective equipment, safe operation of all machinery, tools, and equipment as well as following safety rules at all times.
