    Today, JBT Corporation’s AeroTech Division is a world leader in the supply of airport equipment and services focused on the future. At our Orlando, Florida facility we manufacture airport ground support equipment, including aircraft deicers, aircraft tow tractors, cargo loaders and transporters.

    The Supplier Quality Engineer is a temporary full-time position that reports in to the Quality Manager, and is responsible to drive proactive risk reduction, quality improvements, problem resolution, failure analysis, root cause and corrective action, and facilitate continuous process improvements with assigned suppliers, including: 

    • New product launches, timing / readiness
    • Supplier Quality systems, policies, and procedures,
    • Supplier interface, plant Incoming inspection,
    • Supplier KPI metrics and tracking, Performance improvement
    • Supplier Development
    • Process sign off, Inspection Plans / quality checks - development and implementation,
    • Corrective actions,
    • Kaizen / Continuous Improvement / Scrap reductions,

    This position will provide quick reaction support for Quality and Delivery related issues, plan and execute supplier audits performance reviews, as well provide regular feedback and technical support to assigned suppliers.

    Other Responsibilities Include

    • Evaluate supplier rejections to determine appropriate actions, and manage all phases of Supplier Corrective Actions.
    • Plan and execute product and process related audits, drive preventative actions at the supplier’s facility and minimize escapes
    • Execute product verification activities with suppliers such as FAI, Acceptance Test and Authorization to Ship.
    • Participate in supplier program milestone (e.g. PDR, CDR, MRR, etc) reviews for new strategic awards.
    • Verify that quality data is utilized, tracked, reported, and corrective actions are taken on a routine basis within the assigned supply base.



    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • At least 3 years of supplier quality experience
    • Willingness to travel, including international travel as needed.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and an emphasis on lean manufacturing and Quality Management Systems

    Specialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience interacting with cross functional teams including engineering, materials, logistics, sales & marketing
    • Demonstrated supplier management skills
    • Project management experience
    • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Project
    • Effective two-way communication and executive presentation skills
    • Professional business acumen
    • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies: Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PPAP, etc.

    Must demonstrate a working knowledge of quality systems in manufacturing, including procedures, policies, quality systems, certification, ISO 9001, corrective actions, customer interface, new product launches, and continuous improvement. Strong Quality systems experience required.
