    John Bean Technologies Corporation and its predecessor companies have a long history of technical innovation. JBT traces its roots to 1884 when inventor John Bean developed a new type of spray pump to combat San Jose scale in California's orchards.

    Today, JBT Corporation’s AeroTech Division is a world leader in the supply of airport equipment and services focused on the future.  At our Orlando, Florida facility we manufacture airport ground support equipment, including aircraft deicers, aircraft tow tractors, cargo loaders and transporters.  

     

    The Traffic & EHS Assistant assists the Aftermarket Traffic Administrator with the logistics required to make worldwide shipments of service parts and assemblies. Additional responsibilities to assist with EHS and Facilities management.

    Specific duties include:

    • Create custom invoices for export shipments.
    • Coordinate consolidation shipments for worldwide JBT locations and customers.
    • Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders via email.
    • Create packing slips for export shipments in Syteline.
    • Assist in obtaining freight quotes and prints.
    • Invoice orders daily in Syteline.
    • Pack orders.
    • Process orders through shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL).
    • Create packing slips for domestic shipments.
    • Report obsolete, excess or negative inventory in locations.
    • Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates material issues.
    • Recommends improvements to materials movement, storage and processing procedures.
    • Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping.
    • Document material issues, and coordinates with Traffic Administrator.
    • Assist manufacturing with making labels.
    • Assist safety department with monthly area inspections, safety audits and fire extinguisher inspections.
    • Assist safety department with weekly eyewash, safety shower, hazardous waste and perimeter inspections.
    • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Logistics experience.
    • Data entry experience including invoicing.
    • Technical, vocational or military training or related experience.

    Specialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:

      • Ability to comprehend SyteLine reports, forms and written materials procedures.
      • Three or more years of materials experience with at least four years of experience in a similar environment.
      • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting.
      • Must have demonstrated ability in all aspects of materials and personal computer use.
      • Must demonstrate ability to use all appropriate hand tools.
      • Ability to use forklifts and “Order Picker”.
      • Ability to suggest materials improvements.
      • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate inventory issues, changes and recommendations throughout the organization.
      • Must be able to effectively communicate and problem solve issues that cross departmental boundaries. 

    Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

    • Ability to use forklifts.
    • Training skills include problem solving, use of Outlook, Excel, Word and SyteLine.

    Errors

    • Most of work is not subject to direct check.
    • Possible errors may be serious, involving losses such as incorrect inventory and missed schedule due to data entry errors, incorrect counts, and inaccurate inventory reconciliation.

    Relationship Responsibilities:

    • No direct reports, but assists in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of less experienced employees.
    • Interfaces with all functional areas involved with departmental responsibility to troubleshoot, communicate, and resolve issues.
    • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
    • May communicate with customer or vendor, usually with supervision, during on-site inspections.

    Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards by properly using protective equipment, safe operation of all machinery, tools, and equipment as well as following safety rules at all times.
