    John Bean Technologies Corporation and its predecessor companies have a long history of technical innovation. JBT traces its roots to 1884 when inventor John Bean developed a new type of spray pump to combat San Jose scale in California's orchards.

    Today, JBT Corporation’s AeroTech Division is a world leader in the supply of airport equipment and services focused on the future.  At our Orlando, Florida facility we manufacture airport ground support equipment, including aircraft deicers, aircraft tow tractors, cargo loaders and transporters.  


    As a Painter with JBT AeroTech, you will use paint/body experience, Grit Blast, and Final Paint skills, and judgment to complete assigned paint requirements.


    • Painting according to JBT AeroTech, Inc., specifications. Applies specialized skills in procedures.
    • Completes assigned Lean Enterprise initiatives including 5s activities.
    • Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates discrepancies.  
    • Completes required paint documentation including VOC log, check sheets.
    • Moves painted parts to the next process verifying they meet JBT AeroTech, Inc., specifications.
    • Recommends improvements to Paint Procedures.
    • Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping in work area.
    • Follow Safety, Health, Environment, and Hazardous Waste Rules and Responsibilities.
    • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.


    • High school diploma or GED.  
    • Technical / vocational / or military training or related experience.
    • Typically has five or more years auto paint and body experience.
    • Experience with prep, grit blast and final paint of heavy machinery required.

    Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):  Required to understand all paint related safety training including, Haz-Mat, respirator, VOC, and paint booth operation.

    Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, work environment, supervisor responsibilities, safety and so on):

    • Work Environment- Paint shop environment, paint booths, occasionally outside, and in test.
    • Physical Demands- Bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, using various hand and air tools, crawling in confined workspace, walking and lifting daily up to 25 pounds. Be able to push or pull up to 45 pounds. Be able to walk or stand for long periods of time. Be able to pass the medical evaluation for painters. Be able to wear required respiratory protective equipment.
    • Supervision- Works under minimal supervision. Relies on experience, judgment, and skills to plan and accomplish assigned goals. Resolves questions and problems in prep and paint work center and communicates potential delays to Team Manager or GTL.
    • Errors- Most of work is subject to direct check. Possible errors may be serious, involving losses such as damage to equipment, waste of material, late delivery, etc.
    • Relationship Responsibility- Interfaces with all functional areas to troubleshoot, communicate, and resolve issues. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex paint problems and issues. May communicate with customer or vendors, usually with supervision, during on-site inspections. No direct reports.
    • Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards by properly using protective equipment, safe operation of all machinery, tools, and equipment as well as following safety rules at all times.
