This is a new corporate leadership role in JBT’s Global Sourcing organization and represents an exciting opportunity to lead supplier development, interfacing with category management, strategic sourcing and division manufacturing. This opportunity has a global scope, working with JBT sites located throughout the world. JBT executes strategy at the business unit and site level, therefore this position requires excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and influencing across multiple business units, organizational levels, and geographies.
A successful candidate will be tasked with developing new suppliers of machining, fabrications, and metals products through an excellent understanding industry dynamics and clear knowledge of manufacturing processes, design to value methodologies and cost drivers. The supplier development lead will work with current suppliers to optimize their processes, identify cost drivers, develop cost models and engage in value creation. Driving early supplier engagement in new product development, buyer and category training and education, and developing JBT’s make vs buy strategy round out the responsibilities for the role.
The candidate will support regional and localized sourcing events with manufacturing site leaders and work closely with buyers to establish global supplier relationships to optimize value across the supply chain.
Needed from a successful candidate are strong organizational, project management, data analysis and data management skills and hands on experience with supplier development and category management.
