    This is a new corporate leadership role in JBT’s Global Sourcing organization and represents an exciting opportunity to lead supplier development, interfacing with category management, strategic sourcing and division manufacturing. This opportunity has a global scope, working with JBT sites located throughout the world.  JBT executes strategy at the business unit and site level, therefore this position requires excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and influencing across multiple business units, organizational levels, and geographies.  

    A successful candidate will be tasked with developing new suppliers of machining, fabrications, and metals products through an excellent understanding industry dynamics and clear knowledge of manufacturing processes, design to value methodologies and cost drivers. The supplier development lead will work with current suppliers to optimize their processes, identify cost drivers, develop cost models and engage in value creation.  Driving early supplier engagement in new product development, buyer and category training and education, and developing JBT’s make vs buy strategy round out the responsibilities for the role. 

    The candidate will support regional and localized sourcing events with manufacturing site leaders and work closely with buyers to establish global supplier relationships to optimize value across the supply chain.

    Needed from a successful candidate are strong organizational, project management, data analysis and data management skills and hands on experience with supplier development and category management. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful and experienced supplier development leader with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean principles to contribute in a highly visible leadership position with a career path of strategic contributions, increased responsibilities and advancement.


    Baseline Requirements

    • Industry Knowledge: 20 plus years working in engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain roles with large manufacturing corporations. Demonstrated experience executing design to value, should cost models with machining, fabrication, electronics, hydraulics, OEM and other direct materials categories. Technical expertise identifying, qualifying, and optimizing supplier processes is key for the role.
    • Position Requirements: High degree of proficiency in developing new suppliers and creating supplier and technology roadmaps. Ability to lead supplier research efforts, identify suppliers for market baskets and evaluate supplier capabilities. Ability to work independently, seek guidance when required and drive projects in a matrix environment. Develop and drive large multi-site programs utilizing project management skills and tools; managing resources and achieving targeted results. The position will be supported by a team with strong data capabilities in support of category decision making, pricing evaluations, and project tracking.On the job manufacturing experience with machined parts or fabricated components required. Continuous improvement mindset. Positive communications skill, high energy level and a desire to succeed are all integral to the role.
    •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain from an accredited university is required.
