Category Manager Direct Materials
This is a new corporate leadership role in JBT’s Global Sourcing organization and represents an exciting opportunity drive direct materials category management and sourcing efforts. This opportunity has a global scope, working with JBT sites located throughout the world. JBT executes strategy at the business unit and site level, therefore this position requires excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and influencing across multiple business units, organizational levels, and geographies.
A successful candidate will be tasked with developing category strategies for major spends within direct materials A successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of industry dynamics, clear knowledge of sourcing processes and a demonstrated ability to execute transition plans. He or she will be tasked with supplier management and development, leveraging global supplier relationships to bring the best value to the organization. In addition the candidate will support regional and localized sourcing events with manufacturing site leaders and work closely with buyers to build a robust pipeline of sourcing projects within the directs category. As a sourcing manager you will assist site procurement leadership in capturing spend, working within JBT’s data warehouse to create insights that will drive improvements in cost, working capital and lead times, and identifying key areas of focus.
Needed from a successful candidate are strong organizational, project management, data analysis and data management skills and hands on experience with sourcing and category management of direct materials. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful/experienced supply chain leader with strong knowledge of sourcing processes to work in a creative environment in a highly visible leadership position with a career path of strategic contributions, increased responsibilities and advancement.
On the job experience negotiating supplier contracts and MOU’s. Continuous improvement mindset. Positive communications skill, high energy level and a desire to succeed are all integral to the role.
