  • Overview

    Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of the position.

    • Produce manufacturing products using SQCD guidelines
    • Works with manufacturing personnel to support and test industrial machinery.
    • Anticipates potential problems & takes preventative actions.
    • Shows evidence of good organization, project planning and using effective time management skills.
    • Brings more solutions than problems to the table.


    Indicate internal/external contacts and purpose of contacts.

    • Works with application engineering, service, methods, and production departments to effectively execute orders and solve problems.
    • Effectively communicates information to appropriate parties.
    • Developing some internal customer relationships.
    • Shares opinions, ideas & resources with others to achieve common goals; fosters teamwork & collaboration, builds trust.
    • Participates as a fully contributing member of a project team

    Indicate budget/revenue responsibility.

    • Manage time standards i.e. actual vs standard in order to reduce cost.

    Explain the degree of supervision/guidance, procedures/ processes used, judgment, creativity, planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job.

    • Interprets and applies relevant policies and procedures.
    • Participates in the planning and scheduling process for projects in which involved.
    • Works with management to solve problems and update/improve processes.
    • Effectively interacts with all functional areas of the business.
    • May be assigned to train other employees.

    How are errors detected and what is possible impact of those errors?

    • Discusses conceptual ideas and direction of work with peers in order to minimize mistakes.
    • Meticulous checking of work is required to minimize mistakes.

    • Spends 100% of time in shop environment. Exposure to occasional high noise levels. May work with high-pressure equipment and chemicals. May be subject to inclement weather conditions.
    • Physical demands include ability to bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach above shoulders, walk and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. May carry materials up to 50 pounds for distances up to 20’.  

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Layout and wire control and motor control panels using complex schematic diagrams

    Layout and assemble multiple configurations of conduit on a verity of product lines.

    Locate and mount diverse verity of field devices using PNIP drawings.

    Set for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) i.e. wire temporary harnesses to control panels and field devices

    Perform I/O check and troubleshoot and repair any issues found

    Consults with engineering team and other departments on equipment designs and problems.

    Participates in planning and scheduling projects.

    May participate in product standardization and R&D activities.

    May be required to travel to various JBT locations

    Perform all duties assigned



    What are the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position? (I.e. educational requirements, licenses, certification, work experience, training etc.)?

    • Minimum qualifications include a 2 year technical degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
    • At least 3+ year’s relevant experience in industrial manufacturing of products.
    • Basic knowledge of PC operating systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
    • Knowledge of AC and DC systems and 3 phase high voltage circuits
    • Ability to configure industrial machine controls, including AC/DC drives
    • Knowledge of most technologies, products & applications produced/offered by JBT.
    • General understanding of internal economic factors affecting assignment areas.
    • Ability to communicate within a team environment.
    • Ability to anticipate potential problems and take preventative actions.
    • Knowledge of modern scheduling tools.(Business system)
    • Strong technical skills.
    • Ability to work with customers to solve issues.
