Incumbents load and unload trucks and move material within the warehouse or production facility.
Work includes pulling orders together and assembling them for shipment to customer or distribution centers.
Incumbents will typically use pallet jacks both motorized and non-motorized, hand carts, and frequent use of a riding forklift.
Incumbents may also perform shipping and receiving clerical/administrative activities.
Assembles orders, check against shipping/customer orders, report shortages, and follow up to locate items or incomplete items.
Verify identity and quantity of items received against purchase orders for proper shipment.
Performs various activities that will monitor and maintain the company’s inventory control.
Participates in process improvement initiatives (i.e. Relentless Continuous Improvement (RCI) 6S, Employee Improvement). May work as a team with Parts Shipping Department on process improvement projects and objectives.
Cross Train with Parts Shipping Department as a continuous back up for support in daily shipments not to exclude incoming shipments.
Education / Studies:
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must possess the ability to work effectively and independently in a moderate to fast pace environment.
Previous experience (6 months +) within a warehouse environment with intermediate knowledge of shipping programs.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Preferred Education/Skills:
Previous shipping and receiving experience using a manufacturing ERP system.
Associate Degree or equivalent work experience.
Previous Experience in an ISO certified environment.
Previous experience with operating LP Forklifts.
Beginner-Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Access skills.
Highly organized and a capable problem solver.
Can work under little to no supervision.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be able to lift 75lbs.
Will be required to stand and/or walk 80% of the work day.
This position performs physical labor for the majority of their daily shift, with long periods of riding an LP forklift essential to the job.
Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory while working in the manufacturing area including: hearing protection, OSHA standard safety shoes and safety glasses.
Noise Levels range from low to moderate in warehouse area; low to high in certain production areas within the plant.
