    • Assignments often involve basic technical observations, analysis & modification of simple components.

    • Methods follow application of basic scientific/engineering principles & specific procedures.
    • May participate in product standardization and R&D activities.

    Responsibilities

    Training Requirements

    • Behavioral based safety program.
    • Basic training in 2D and 3D CAD.
    • ERP system training.
    • Training courses as outlined in the individuals development agreement.
    • Working toward EIT/FE certification.

    Relationship Responsibilities

    • Operates within local organization & accomplishes work through effective consultation with more senior professionals.
    • Operates within existing systems & under supervision.
    • Participates as a team member.
    • Demonstrates good internal presentation & report writing skills.
    • Works with sales and application engineering to help define customer communications, but minimal customer contact.
    • Respectful of others, open to other’s viewpoints, listens effectively.

    Responsibilities

    • Receives detailed instructions and guidance through design steps for routine projects.
    • Solicits assistance from more experienced technical professionals & supervisor.
    • Demonstrates awareness of policies and procedures that affect specific job assignments.

    Work Environment

     

    • Spend most of the time in an office environment.
    • Possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working on the shop floor, assembly areas and field service applications.

    Physical Demands

    • Spend most of the time in an office environment.
    • Spends 65% of the time sitting and operating a computer or workstation, 5% percent in the shop and 30% at customer sites.
    • Possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working on the shop floor, assembly areas and field service applications.
    • Physical demands when working at customer sites may include ability to bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach above shoulders, walk and lift up to 50 pounds throughout work day. May carry materials up to 50 pounds for distances up to 20’.
    • May be subject to inclement weather conditions.

    Major Responsibilities

    Create drawings and inputs the BOM’s into the business system.

    Process ECN’s effectively.

    Read, interpret and prepare applicable technical information and suggest design/process changes to ensure simple, functional and cost effective results.

    Assignments often involve basic technical observations, analysis and modification of simple components.

    Methods follow application of basic scientific/engineering principles and specific procedures.

    May participate in product standardization and R&D activities.

    Show evidence of good organization skills.

    May be required to travel to various JBT and/or customers’ sites inside and outside of the U.S.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Typically zero to (2) years of experience.
    • Basic understanding of Engineering practices, design methods & calculations.
    • Read, interpret & prepare applicable technical information such as 2D/3D drawings & suggest design/process changes to ensure simple, functional & cost effective results.
    • Knowledge of trends & economic conditions affecting the technical field.
    • Has or can obtain a valid Passport.
