JBT Military is looking for a motivated, self-starting individual to manage existing military accounts and develop new military sales opportunities across North America, with particular emphasis on US military / DoD / Air National Guard customers potentially in all service branches. Customers and potential customers will also include business organizations that support military and airframe operations within the US military and internationally through FMS/FMF activities with special emphasis on the F16, C130 and F35 airframes. The prospective candidate will also be expected to deepen and enhance existing relationships with key airframe manufacturers such as Boeing, BAE, Lockheed and others.
Selling efforts will also extend to general contractors / sub-contractors supporting base construction projects, especially those involving new hangars, expanded / upgraded hangars and other related aviation infrastructure.
The majority of the selling efforts are envisioned to be with bases, contractors, FMS/FMF support companies, airframe companies and other organizations for discrete, ad hoc opportunities that are not necessarily tied to larger military program purchases. Other sales efforts may involve assisting with Program Sales, proposal development for larger program bids, and the like as they come available.
Products to be promoted and sold include aviation ground support equipment (AGE) and cargo handling equipment for flight line and hangar use. The current product line includes high pressure conditioned air equipment (HPC) for fighter and cargo aircraft, bleed air carts (typically for ECS use), ground power equipment (400 Hz, 270VDC, 28VDC), combination carts, electric powered carts, diesel powered carts, static systems for hangar use, cargo loading equipment (Halvorsen loaders and Atlas loaders – 3, 4, and 5 pallet options), push-back / tow tractors, deicers, towbarless tractors, hangar maintenance scaffolding, and other AGE.
Product families continue to be expanded and refined and the candidate will be expected to assist in developing product growth and development strategies as well as assisting in fully militarizing COTS or near-COTS products that may be suitable for military applications.
The ideal candidate will be retired military: USAF E-9, Chief Master Sergeant, USN E-9, Master Chief Petty Officer, USA E-9, Sergeant Major or USMC E-9, Sergeant Major E-9 - equivalent or higher, with prior military sales experience. The preferred candidate will have extensive first-hand knowledge of some of the key aspects of military aviation – such as aviation ground equipment specifications, use, purchasing, flight line activities / practices and equipment support. It is envisioned that the preferred candidate will have access to military installations and bring to the selling effort firsthand knowledge of key practices in the procurement and / or use of military ground support equipment and cargo handling equipment and have an intimate knowledge of applicable lexicon and technical practices so as to be able to converse comfortably with all levels within the military structure regarding purchases of AGE, hangar AGE, and cargo loaders.
This position will work independently and not at JBT's Corporate offices located in Ogden, Utah. Preferred work locations are (in order of priority) in close proximity to the following military bases: Warner Robbins Air Force Base – Houston County, Georgia; Wright Patterson Air Force Base – Greene and Montgomery Counties, Ohio; Pax River – St. Mary’s County, Maryland; Red Stone Arsenal – Madison County, Alabama.
