Technically aid the sales force, customers and potential customers in an effort to drive machinery, parts and service sales. Will be expected to provide direction to colleagues throughout the organization in an effort to improve sales, profitability, safety, quality and customer satisfaction levels. Also, research customer product requirements, competitive offerings, and product gaps to determine market needs for new products. In addition, must have a general knowledge of machine capabilities, processes, and performance requirements as well as conduct financial analysis on product portfolios.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Research Engineers.
Work closely with customers across the globe to gain their perspective of JBT products offered.
Gather pertinent data from customers to assist in analyzing and recommending product promotions, and pricing.
Shares opinions, ideas and resources with sales, engineering, manufacturing and procurement functions.
No formal reports, but may be called upon at times to provide supervisory responsibilities to help coach.
Demonstrates solid understanding of policies & procedures that apply to cross-functional assignments.
Progress and results receive both general and/or detailed reviews.
Indicate budget/revenue responsibility.
Coordination responsibility on assigned product line functional performance against project budgets.
BS or BA in Engineering (ME, EE, or AE), Industrial Technology or Food Science. Preferred MBA.
Demonstrated experience in engineering/manufactruing in a Co-op or Internship role required.
Very proficient with a PC and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Very strong technical writing skills.Ability to read, interpret and prepare technical drawings.
Basic mechanical and electrical/controls aptitude.
Ability to present ideas and information clearly and concisely, either to individuals or to a large group.
Demonstrate effective leadership ability within a team environment and contributes significantly to team performance.
Understands division businesses and competing products or technologies and financial impact of decisions.
A very good understanding of the food industry segments and customers we serve on a global basis.
Effective knowledge about our key competitors and their products.
Affinity for and history of working well with customers.
Has or can obtain a valid Passport.
Up to 20% Travel to various JBT and/or customers’ sites inside and outside of the U.S. required as necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Will spend most of the time in an office environment. possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working on the shop floors, production, and process areas across JBT, Supplier, and Customer sites.
