This position is located at the Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Coordinate customer service requirements with onsite maintenance personnel.
  • Answer phones and enter work orders into the CMMS system.
  • Oversee the scheduling of technicians and the input of all required information into the CMMS.
  • Serve as the first contact to customers and vendors.
  • Implement work order schedules maximizing usage of technicians and other resources.
  • Run operation reports and provide recommendations to improve efficiency/productivity
  • Respond to and clear faults that occur with the baggage handling system.
  • Transport baggage within the baggage handling area.
  • Report any issues found that could potentially lead to additional system failures.
  • Assist with operational issues during outages or failures.
  • Manually scan barcode tags on baggage missed by the automated system.
  • Comply with company safety program and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of a Work Order Coordinator, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Driver License
  • 1+ year of related experience in customer service or dispatching
  • 1+ year of related experience with data entry, scheduling workloads, and/or processing work orders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift including weekends and holidays
