Overview

The Engineering Manager is the technical link between several functions across the Avure organization and will have a full range of focus from a technical expert to a strategic business partner. This position plans, organizes and directs engineering to meet objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines of High Pressure machinery for the Food and Beverage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Become one of the company’s subject matter experts regarding High Pressure Vessel design.
  • Supervise and lead engineers who design and develop pressure vessels.
  • Guide/support the organization in technical questions (Workshop/Wire winding/Assembly/Procurement).
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement for the products as well as company processes.
  • Support Quality Assurance in technical questions.
  • Take ownership of knowledge transfer within the Engineering team and to make sure that the knowledge and competence is implemented and used throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.
  • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
  • Participate in and guide through design reviews of engineering solutions.
  • Establish administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Work with current and new suppliers in order to improve internal as well as external total quality.
  • Support the sales and service teams as well as customers to meet Company objectives.

Other tasks and assignments

Qualifications

  • BS degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 5 years engineering experience in the design of capital equipment.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing engineering teams.
  • SolidWorks/Ansys experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience and ability to lead teams to resolve issues.
  • Accountable and performance oriented.
  • Systematic, process oriented, critical thinker.
  • Ability to travel as needed to facilitate supplier visits.
  • Material (metallic) experience is advantageous.
  • ASME B&PV Code experience is advantageous.
