Overview

This is a divisional sourcing role in JBT’s Global Sourcing organization and represents an exciting opportunity to execute sourcing processes and corporate commodity strategies.  This opportunity has North American wide scope, working with JBT sites located across the JBT Liquid Foods Organization in the United States.  JBT executes strategy at the business unit and site level, therefore this position requires excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and influencing.   This is an exciting opportunity for a successful/experienced supply chain professional with strong knowledge of sourcing processes to work in a creative environment in a highly visible sourcing position with a career path of continued strategic contributions, responsibilities and advancement.

Responsibilities

A successful candidate will be tasked with executing strategic sourcing waves for major category spends in pumps, valves, instrumentation, and other categories through an excellent understanding of direct and indirect materials and a focus on sourcing processes and execution.  In addition the candidate will manage regional and localized sourcing events with manufacturing site leaders and work closely with buyers to build best practices and policy discipline.  As a sourcing specialist you will assist site procurement leadership in capturing spend, working within JBT’s spend data warehouse to create insights that will drive improvements in cost, working capital and lead times, and identifying key areas of focus.  Supplier identification and development are additional responsibilities for the role.

Needed from a successful candidate are strong organizational, data analysis and data management skills. 

Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: 5 plus years working in direct and or indirect sourcing or supply chain roles with large manufacturing corporations.  Hands on experience executing the strategic sourcing process with pumps, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, fabrication, OEM components and other direct materials categories is preferred.   Understands pharmaceutical and food industry regulation implications for the supply chain.  Indirect sourcing experience is a plus. 
  • Position Requirements: Demonstrate proficiency in supplier research, RFP and market basket development, sourcing processes and strategies and project management. Working knowledge of supply chain and total cost of ownership principles.  Ability to work independently, seek guidance when required and drive projects in a matrix environment.  On the job experience negotiating supplier contracts and MOU’s.  Continuous improvement mindset and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is required.  Experience in applying Lean principals of pull, KanBan, and one piece flow is desired.  A thorough understanding and ability to use all Microsoft software applications (specifically Microsoft Excel) is required.  Experience extracting and analyzing spend data from BI or ERP/MRP software (such as Infor CloudSuite Industrial “Syteline”) to support recommendations is preferred.  Positive communications skill, high energy level and a desire to succeed are all integral to the role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain from an accredited university is required.  APICs and/or CPM certification is a plus.
